While I certainly have not made an effort to paint outside every day, I’ve still painted a few more times.
April 12
Painted through the window on a rainy day, I was struck by the way the moss on the tree seemed to glow in the rain with the hazy backdrop of a blooming magnolia. Used Rich Green Gold, Phthalo Green YS, Indanthrone Blue, TRO, Quin Magenta.
April 15
The Toronto skyline from Billy Bishop Airport that I do every time I’m in Toronto. Cobalt Blue, Cobalt Turquoise, Phthalo Turquoise, TRO, Raw Sienna.
April 16
Experimenting with backlit spring greens on a sunny spring day in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. Imidazolone Lemon, Rich Green Gold, Indanthrone Blue, Cobalt Blue, Phthalo Blue RS, Quin Magenta, Isoindolinone Yellow Deep, TRO.
Conclusion
I did about as much when I was not “making an effort” as when I was! It has been beautiful and picturesque outside, and I’ve noticed many other opportunities where I would have liked to paint, but lacked the time/will/energy. It’s under three weeks until I move, so I think it’ll be essential-tasks-only for awhile – though hopefully I will still find time for enjoyment here and there!
