Idyll: “an extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque episode or scene, typically an idealized or unsustainable one.” (Dictionary.com)
Billy Idyll: A fan of 1980s rock music who wants to paint pretty pictures. Your one dirtbag classmate in watercolor class. The one who shows up late with a painting that’s crumpled and coffee-stained. Every time you point out something you like in his work, he mumbles, “Oh yeah… that was an accident.”
(In case it needs to be said, I’m not in any way affiliated with the rock star Billy Idol. My partner described Billy Idyll as my “art drag name,” and, yeah.)
